[NLC] Our collective statements on Envision Eugene from November SEN meeting...

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Here are the Southeast Neighbors draft collective statements from our second general meeting related to Envision Eugene, in November, created together using the consensus-circles process.

We're also meeting tonight for our third general meeting to focus on Envision Eugene issues:

	Southeast Neighbors General Meeting
	Tuesday, February 8, 2011, 7:00-9:00pm
	Hilyard Community Center
	2580 Hilyard Street, Eugene

BTW, these are the four questions we addressed in November, with our collective response in this new set of statements:

	What are your worst possible outcomes of planning for changes in
	the housing mix in Eugene?
	
	What are your best possible outcomes of planning for changes in
	the housing mix in Eugene?
	
	What do you need or want to know more about, to help create a
	vision for the next 20 years in Eugene?
	
	What question or questions would you like Southeast Neighbors to
	discuss, and make a collective statement about?

And back in June, at our first general meeting on Envision Eugene, we addressed these three initial questions:

	What are your worst possible outcomes of planning for growth in
	Eugene?
	
	What are your best possible outcomes of working together to plan
	how Eugene should grow?
	
	What I Might Do to Help.

With the Eugene City Council scheduled to make some key decisions regarding Envision Eugene in mid-March, our meeting tonight is especially timely, and I look forward to taking things to the next level together in our neighborhood discussion.

Southeast Neighbors

Working together as 13,000 residents and businesses and

Please help save Eugene's threatened Pileated Woodpeckers
and Amazon Creek Otters!  Support headwaters stewardship
and upland wildlife habitat protection, including upland
pocket wetlands and remnant ancient conifer glades.

Please help stop destructive infill development.  Support
the South Hills Study to help continue carbon sequestration 
in our heritage forest and woodlands.  

Help us learn to create dense, high-quality, mixed-use 
redevelopment in existing commercial areas to improve the 
livability, vitality, and true prosperity of our community 
while reducing our car-driving carbon footprint.
