Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As you may know, while we are wonderfully, tantalizingly close to the threshold of really securing protection for key pristine parts of the Amazon Creek Headwaters - initial feeder areas essential for our whole watershed - the Eugene City Council has delayed taking the final critical action to proceed with an eminent domain process to acquire the Green Valley Glen (Joe Green/East Fork Amazon headwaters Forest) and Deerbrook (Beverly/Amazon Headwaters Keystone) properties. We must remain vigilant and maintain our respectful public voice, calling for firm resolve to finally achieve protection, in the letters columns and with all our friends and neighbors.
Meanwhile, we are still carrying critical debt from the legal battles to stop developments on these parcels.
If you possibly can, please, please help with the urgent request penned below from Lisa Warnes. Checks of any size, tax deductible, should be sent right away directly to VIEW coordinator and FoE board member:
Lisa Warnes
5020 Nectar Way
Eugene, OR 97405
Payable to "Friends of Eugene", with "VIEW" in the memo line.
Thanks so much.
Pulling together, we will save this nature.
all best,
Kevin
