Subject: This Saturday: National Public Lands Day and Education Center Public Meeting
Dear friends of the West Eugene Wetlands and WREN,
We invite you to join us this coming beautiful fall Saturday, September 22, in the West Eugene Wetlands for a morning of satisfying outdoor work, followed by the very first public meeting and presentation of the master plan for the West Eugene Wetlands Education Center.
>From 9-11:30 a.m. volunteers will plant bulbs, remove invasive species, and help clean up Amazon Creek in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Gloves and tools will be provided. Volunteers will be rewarded with a free poster, t-shirt, coupon for admission to a national park, a lunch (starting at 11:30), and the satisfaction of working to enhance our public lands alongside fellow community members.
Then beginning at 12:30 p.m. Rowell Brokaw Architects of Eugene will present the Master Plan of th e West Eugene Wetlands Education Center that has developed from focus groups, planning and design cycles. We invite input from the public as the Education Center Planning and Design Teams finalize the plans this fall.
These two events will be held at the future site of the West Eugene Wetlands Education Center,751 S. Danebo Ave. We hope to see you out here!
