[SEN-D] FYI: Help Requested. EWEB/Eugene Bond Referendum Petition

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I'll be signing this petition on paper myself (below). The basic idea here is that EWEB go through the same kind of bond measure approval process that the City of Eugene does - City bonds need to be approved by City voters, whereas EWEB bonds only need to be approved by the City Council itself.

best wishes,

Kevin

Subject: Help Requested. EWEB/Eugene Bond Referendum Petition

Hi All.

We have decided to place a referendum on the Eugene City ballot to allow the Citizens of Eugene to vote on whether the City Of Eugene and rate payers should fund the proposed 85 million dollar EWEB Operational Building in west Eugene wetlands. City Councillor Bonny Bettman tried to place this on the ballot for the citizens of Eugene in February but her motion failed 3-5 with Betty Taylor and Alan Zalenka voting in favor.

For a Question and Answer Fact Sheet go to www.greenwasheugene.com/eweb-roosevelt-petition.pdf

So, we are asking if you are a registered voter of Eugene please sign our petition (pdf below or downloadable at http://www.greenwasheugene.com/eweb.html ) even if it only one signature. If you have additional time to gather other signatures please print out other copies and collect more signatures. (If you gather more please read and follow petition guidelines carefully and you must include the entire resolution attached to the petition).
We have a deadline of April 28, 2008 to turn in the 4300 valid voter signatures, so time is short.

Return completed petition sheets before April 25th to Box 51222 Eugene 97405, OR
or hand deliver to the Cascadia Ecosystem Advocates office 454 Willamette Street Office 205 (shared with the Eugene Peaceworks at the Grower's Market)

Thank you for your time and for further inquiries email or call us at 746-3371.
