Subject: [WEC] Inviting public to WEC / EmX Discussion #2 on Tue 11/2?
Importance: High

Dear WEC friends ... and City of Eugene and LTD friends,

Last night I received a call from Erin Ellis, who is the coordinator for
the Our Money Our Transit <http://ourmoneyourtransit.com/> effort. She
actually lives in Springfield. (She also said that she knew me somehow,
and we finally figured out that we had both once worked in the LCC math
department.)

Erin and her group have heard that the WEC is looking at EmX, and has
been searching for some public notice or website listing of the meeting.
She ended up calling me after I had contacted Our Money Our Transit to
learn about their Thursday morning pancake meetings.

In any case, she wants to attend our Discussion #2 this coming Tuesday.
As our full meetings (if not subcommittee meeting) have always been open
to the public, if not well attended, and as we include several public
officials meeting in the public McNutt Room, I'd consider our meeting
public and open to Erin or anyone else who wanted to come to observe.

Does anyone have any objection to inviting Erin and others to observe
our meeting on Tuesday, November 2?

Thanks,
Rob Z

Based on the responses I have received, the least worst time for a
second meeting for the WEC to discuss EmX appears to be:

    Tuesday, November 2 (Election Day)
    3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
    McNutt Room

Meanwhile, the ad hoc subcommittee -- Tom Schwetz, Kevin, Pat, Larry,
Jim Welsh, Chris, Emily, Tim, me ... and JAN -- are looking at
developing some options to bring to the full group.

A key question is:

What is (are) the problem(s) concerning EmX in west Eugene that the WEC
has an interest helping with?

Please share if you have any thoughts.

Thanks,
Rob Z

P.S. You can free up all the other proposed dates/times:
