[WEC-Env] Our Next Env. Task Force Mtg: Oct 8 9 a.m.
THOMPSON Paul E
PTHOMPSON at lcog.org
Tue Oct 2 14:31:23 PDT 2007
The meeting will occur in the (usual) LCOG 4th Floor Large Conference
Room.
Unfortunately, the phone-in number Mary gives below is for the regional
conference call line, which can accommodate multiple callers at once,
but must be reserved in advance. No one had requested reserving the
line, and it is already reserved for another meeting at the same time
(so please don't call that number Monday morning, or you'll join a
different meeting!). IF anyone needs to call in to join our meeting on
Monday, please let me know. We can accommodate one caller on the
conference room's standard phone line (541.682.3023) but will not be
able to accommodate more than one.
LCOG has produced copies of 40+ additional maps and aerial photos which
may be of interest/use to the group. Due to the number and size (125 MB
total) of the files, I have made them available on the internet on the
LCOG FTP site here ftp://ftp.lane.cog.or.us/outgoing/WEC/
There are four main groups of new maps/aerials:
* A set of 13 aerial photos which show the West Eugene Wetlands
area in 1850, 1936, 1952, 1977, 1995 and 2004 (OK . . . the 1850 files
aren't photos, just representations!)
* A set of 12 Metro Waterways maps mostly focused on the Amazon
basin showing a variety of information, including historic, existing &
projected habitat, soil permeability, runoff potential, existing &
projected land use, existing & projected impervious surface, and more
* A set of 8 Ridgeline area files showing a variety of information
(please note that the "RidgelineAreaMaps11_06.pdf" file contains 10
maps)
* 2 additional maps showing Historic & Existing Vegetation
Patterns -- please note that these two maps repeat the same maps
contained in the "Ridgeline Area Maps" folder, but we have changed the
location of the map's title and legend block on these two maps to better
reveal the West Eugene area of interest for our purposes
* The latest (Sept-6-07) "Ridgeline Area Open Space Vision and
Action Plan Draft Vision Map"
You should be able to access, view and download the 36 files as if the
files are on a network hard drive. Please let me know if you have any
trouble with the FTP site. The files were posted to the site today, and
will only remain there for one week. So, if you would like your own
copies of the files, please download them prior to Monday's meeting, or
let me know if you would like me to make a CD of the files for you (or,
to be really efficient, bring the CDs I distributed with the initial
maps several months ago to the meeting on Monday, and I'll add the new
files to your existing disc). I will bring TWO color sets of all of the
maps to Monday's meeting to pass around the table.
