Hmmm. I think the background site photograph, including sky, has been purposefully adjusted to be slightly abstract. This helps the actual design project stand out clearly, and also, by contrast it helps give a heightened sense of realism to the design project itself.
The intent of this excellent rendering is not straight-across maximum realism, but rather, a general sense of realism in service of some very specific design communication.
