I was thinking of something like the radius trees. There are also 2d trees developed by third parties. they can be placed fairly believably and they are made so that you can see BETWEEN the leaves ( that's what I mean be "through the leaves" as in "through the woods" and "through the tulips"

"On the side" I mean that the trees would be positioned to the sides and in the foreground of your view so as not to obscure the view of the house and you might put some that are visible around the edges and top of the house from behind (depending on view angle).
