Modeling, DesignWorkshop Professional. Rendering, DesignWorkshop Professional.I attempted to put my first project together using "lite". As you can see, it is incomplete (Due to the 100 object maximun). I probably would not have started if I had known of this "Show Stopper". The uploads should give you an idea of how much can be done using the 100 object limit. Actually not bad for a freebie......Now I'm on the hook for the upgrade if I can spring for the bucks.
I found the program easy to get started and easy to use after brief familiarzation. Though lacking in some finer aspects (dims, analysis, pt to pt measurements, and general drafting construction), I found it enjoyable and fun for a home project. It does have the x,y,z and east- west readouts so you can calculate, add and subtract your numbers on your own hand held calculator. Cumbersom but doable. The export of dxf files works fine. I had problems with the "pict" export because it is not a valid "pic" or "pct" format. Therefore I couldnt make a gif of the "wireframe" ore the "Shadow" drawings. They are printable though.
I have basically mechanical background from GE Nuclear to IBM disk drive design and manufacturing. My CAD experiences have gone from ComputerVision to CATIA and a lot in between.
Anyone out there want to help me finish this? Price IS an object.
