Roberto,

Misako modeled this and I'm not too sure on the details.

However, if I had done it, I would go into elevation mode and build a large circle which I know will give me the shape of the curve of the truss that I am looking for. I would then give it a depth that is appropriate for whichever chord I am building, wallify it, group the wallified parts, and cut off the right and left hand sides of the grouped circle. Now delete the sides. Then you have a top or bottom chord. Repeat the process for the other chord and you have the curved members.

The vertical members are simple extrusions that have had their top face locations shifted using the select fact tool. You can easily make these as 8- or 16-sided polygons to add some smoothness to them. I usually keep the number of facets to a minimum so that it is less memory intensive.

You could also create a multi-sided polygon and make a huge circle using the duplicate miter tool while in elevation mode and then just use the portion of it that you need for your chord.

I don't know if that helps or not.

Larry
