Modeling, DesignWorkshop Professional.   Rendering, Art*lantis.

Hello all.

There have been several discussions about lanscaping objects, where to find them, the best way to put them in... Anyway, while working on this model (it still needs some work - there could be design changes) and trrying to make the glass appear reflective blue, I realized I would have to make something for the glass to reflect. I've tried using 3d trees and bushes once before, but it slowed down the modeling file considerably - it just seemed easier to use Photoshop. But this project is a little different - I did a little animation in Artlantis also (what fun!)

The trees and bushes were made using the DW tree machine, while the background trees were applied as a texture in Artlantis. I am really happy with the "photo-realistic" results in the reflections and shadows. The drawback is the size of my DW file and the amount it slows down the program - this should definitely be the last thing done because its slow to the point of being a pain in the neck - but I think the results are worth it.

Dreaming of dual processors,
Andrea
