Well, I was certainly drawn in to get a better look at the lovely simplicity of this scene. The concrete rendering is great. The furniture is great. It was only when I attempted to understand the light perspective that I got bogged down. As I perused the left wall and the bluish-gray softness of the outside landscape, I had to conclude that the sky was completely overcast. And then I moved to the right wall which is so obviously awash in direct sunlight - I guess?!? Now I'm thinking that the concrete rendition in the shadows is great, but when in direct sunlight, the concrete appears to have been whitewashed in a milk-based paint. This could be explained by the viewer having been blinded by the brightness of the reflected sunlight, but then the shadowed features would be severely dimmed and darkened as a result. Plus, again, the intensity and clarity of the trees in the background just don't support the brightness of the apparent sunlight. And then, OHMYGOODNESS, I have only just now discovered the edge of sunlight that I've been looking for all this time. It is the bright yellow plastic thing along the edge of the pool. I'm afraid that I've been focused on trying to figure out why the apparently light sky reflects as dark in the floor wax in the center foreground. IMO, the sunlight should have more of a white component in it. Even though the floor has a yellow hue, it is not a pure yellow (same with the sun) and the dust particles on the surface will luminesce in the presence of the broad spectrum of radiation given off by the sun. I'm interested in what sort of all-weather flooring is used in this room. It is a great view and would an attractive place to spend a vacation.
