It has generally been accepted that once something is published on the Internet volunteeringly in a public message board it is considered to be entered into the public domain for anyone's use. There is no copyright to the information. If anyone had a claim to it now it would be Artifice, Inc. I would think. If the poster feels differently, they have the option to not post again.
If the Bullpen attributed the source of the information as coming from CaddPower via DesignCommunity it would be a courtesy and fair play but not mandatory. Removal of a postings here as requested are at the sole discretion of Artifice. I don't think they are required to do so.
BTW, on AOL, AOL never claimed to own the copyright to an individual post or file but did claim the copyright to the aggregate body of works assembled, i.e. a message board or a library of files. That was my understanding when I headed up the Mac Graphics Forum.
Interestingly, down the line, the Bullpen's assembled aggregate body of information could possibly be copyrighted in that someone should not successfully rip it off and write a book with it. But, it would probably be a tough fight.
Well, that's my opinion. If you don't like it, don't post. We will all be worse off if the moneyed interest assert their authority over the Internet and lock it down over content issues. Here we have a very little fish trying to rip off Artifice with self-promotion advertising without paying for it and not liking the consequences.
