There are differences between CRT and LCD displays which are obviously due to their base technology. Generally LCD's have a 'softer feel' than CRT's but how much so is one of personal perception and typically it's merely a matter of getting used to the different look and feel.

Since we're all different with respect to how and what we see, the best advice is to actually hit the shops and compare first hand how the displays look 'to you'. Third hand comments are always going to be biased to how "I see" which will be of little value in the end.

Buying a monitor is a pretty personal decision and should be treated as such.

hope that helps and makes sense
Brian
