The 23" monitor lets you put up pdf files with Adobe Acrobat 6 in 2 page format that is easily visible even for small type, whereas the 20" is much tougher to read a 2 page spread.

I vote for the 23" any day of the week, and also for the best glasses for correction to view the screen without eyestrain.

In a prior post I noted a spring balanced arm from LCDarms.com which allows you to have more space on your physical desk by getting the LCD up some inches off its surface.
