Your hotlink idea is a step beyond what I had imagined, and sounds amazing. But would it not make communication too complex? (Or is that what they mean by "intelligent objects"?) What seems odd is that SketchUp's plugin is for ArchiCAD, which is meant to be able to do the same kind of modelling already, but in a relatively unintuitive way. Plugging in to PowerCADD (or vice versa) would be more logical, especially if they could read each other's formats instead of having to translate back and forth in DWG, which I imagine may tend to corrupt information.
Can SketchUp handle freeform surfaces, or is it limited to planes and Euclidian shapes? In other words, is it really compatible with PowerCADD's proven ability to "draw the world"?
