Message - hatching

I often like to form some fine hatching lines to give surface definition to objects.

In the older powercadd versions, I would set up several sets of horizontal and vertical lines with various line spacings - also set up a few sets at a specificied angle - then when needed, I would define a shape with the polygon tool, hatch with one of the predefined hatches, ungroup so I could throw away the shape and, voila ! - a nice group of fine lines to give the surface some definition. With the angled sets of hatch lines, I could change the angle at the last minute to match the angle of the object.

All this capability disappeared in version 6 - now, as I understand it, I have to draw a set of lines and make a new hatch with that - when I then try to fill a polygon, I can no longer ungroup to throw away the polygon but, rather, have to make the polygon invisible before I hatch it - also the hatch lines move around as I move them over the drawing - also, it is more tedious now to make a last-minute change of the hatch angle.

PowerCadd is so great I hate to complain but I wish there was a method similar to the way hatches used to be.
