This is the way it ought to be. The street is not merely a means of going somewhere else, but is a place to be. A PLACE. The gatepost porticos in the foreground mark a beginning and the focal building in the distance makes an end. Because the space is defined, it is not endless, shapeless space, but becoming a "figural space" makes a place.
