So British Victorian. Rather heavy and overly rich for my taste, but we have much nineteenth century work here, not much more loveable (by me) that we need to love (like an ungainly child) because it is ours. Tastes can be acquired, if one tries hard enough.

Envision this building in an acid-orange brick and you will have my image of Anglo Canada (NOT French Québec, of course--that's 18th-century stone, all grey when not painted bright blue).
