I was station at the Gutleut Kaserne in Frankfurt Germany from October, 1962 till February, 1965. I worked on the 7th floor of the IG Farben Bldg and I was in the Army Security Agency. I have many fond memories about the building and I enjoyed riding the paternoster everyday. I returned in July, 1985 and found that Gutleut Kaserne had be partly demolished--the front was still there and some other parts; but, most of the building has demolished. Some of the buildings that were demolished was use for Allied Army air pilots POWs during the war. There was also a tunnel that ran to the Hauptbahnhof (train station); but, was not used when I was there. There was lounge there at Gutleut that used to nickel beer on Thursday nights.

I love Frankfurt and I would like to go back again and visit the area. These posts bring back lots of fond memories.
