I just got an assigment similar to this in my Physics class. Our rules are that the bridge's mass to weight ratio is what counts. This means that you take the ratio of how much your bridge weights to how much weight your bridge can hold. Our bridge must be 21 - 21.5 cm. long, and 12 cm. wide. I confided in the help of my father, who's an engineer. What we did was we took a board, and nailed 3 nails in a triangle pattern to it. We used this as a form for bending the pasta. We took a single piece of fettucini, and bent it around the nails, and then we hot glued a piece of fettucini to each side of it, to form an arc. We created 6 arcs, and then we glued several pieces of fettucini to the flat side to tie the arcs together, and to add more support. This is how we did it. There are several variations, but the weight was only 50 grams, and my father assumed it could possibly hold 10 lbs., so that's holding 80 times it's own weight, so it's not a bad plan.
