i'd advise u to study the various riverfront developments here in the indian traditional, social and religious context and instead of 'highlighting' only the godavari tradition , trace the common thread in all these places as regards their character, architectural language, social importance.... and redefine the same in the contemporary indian context.
an interesting topic though, gotta say..
just give it ur best.
