I am interested to hear the opinions of those who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate architecture program. Should undergraduate studios be geared towards theory or "how to build a building?"

The program at the University of Minnesota promotes theory and how to think as an architect as opposed to learning the nitty gritty on learning to draw up plans, sections, elevations, etc. Moreover, the use of AutoCAD or 3d programs like Viz or FormZ are discouraged and are not part of the required curriculum. I just wonder what other students are experiencing and their thoughts.
