We have also been asked to design a bus terminal this semester. What we have been told is to keep things as simple as possible. What you need to keep in mind is that you would want to minimise person/vehicle confrontation from a safety point of view. So try to have the people entering from somewhere that the buses dont pass. Select a suitable layout for your design. Again a simple rectangular layout would make things easier if you need to put in columns to support the roof. Personally I feel that drainage is one of the hardest criteria to meet. You need to make sure that water is drained away from where the people will be queing to get on the bus. We have been asked to design the platform with a shallow saw tooth design. If you don't know what this is, then do some reading. It could save you quite a lot of time and trouble when it comes to circulation. Have fun.
