The best way to start is through independent study, whether you go to the University of Houston or anywhere else. Space architecture is a young field that requires a motivation and capacity for research and a thorough knowledge of technology. The http://www.SpaceArchitect.org/ web site lists many reference publications - just follow the "publications" link. Many of them are available for free download as HTML or PDF documents. Start reading, and good luck!
