Architects that influence your thinking ?
We admire Architects for many different reasons, it would be interesting for students or whoever to post in a number of influential architects, giving a brief description why.
Rem Koolhaas - His devotion to injecting new ideas into the urban fabric and a profound examination rejection of the art in architecture.
Itsuko Hasegawa - Beautifully tectonic forms that reach toward the future but are rooted in the traditions of the past.
Odile Decq & Benoit Cornette - Sacred geomentry and beautiful aesthetic formalism manifest with a high-tech vocabulary.
Elizabeth PLatter Zyberk- a grasp for what's lacking in modern urban design. A true understanding of what works in classic design and why the past somethimes is better.
Neil M. Denari - Architecture packaged for a consumer driven culture. A reinvention of the personification of function in form.
Greg Lynn - How are we going to design and build in a digital culture? An incredible look in the digital made real.
dECOI - french attitude
Macos Novak - another great computer designer
Kaplan and Kruger a&m - architecture & masochism
Lebbeus Woods that guy can draw brilliantly
Morphosis - fantastic (needs no real overview)
Not forgetting about some classics like:
Le Corbusier- years ahead, at least in theory.
Mies- a grasp for the unique ideas of suburban america before there was suburban america, and he wasn't even american...
enough said - your turn....:-)
