Can the "mentally challenged" be convalesced? You can't cure it because it is not a sickness. The "mentally challenged" have very different issues than the "physicaly affected". First you need to research the issues of caring for and educating the "mentally challenged" and mainstreaming those who are 'different'. I am assuming you are talking about those who were born with a lower than average IQ? and who also may have physical problems as well. I would hope that you are not lumping all disabilities into one catagory. Much research has been done on this subject in the U.S., especially in the 1960's and 70's. The idea being to not warehouse people but to support them in gaining freedoms by learning new skills and maintaining close ties with family.
