hi...i'm Lina from Unibersity Teknologi Malaysia, architecture course, now further study, master in urban design. your thesis is interesting..same with me while i was in final year, 6th architecture.
I'm project was 'YOGA meditation and retreat centre'. mine thesis was 'holistic architecture' using mandala, feng shui and cosmic to get the holistic architecture. The objective were to creat the spiritual environment in the resort. to the references, i suggest u to refer a Traditional Balinese architecture. We can see the spiritual and symbolic inside their architecture and planning. from what i study, most of the old building have their own spiritual especially in Asia, eg Borubudur, Angkor Watt, Rajashtan temple(not sure the name) traditional mosque in Malacca or China and many more. Sorry..may the referances i give u more relate to mine spiritual project; asian and hinduism because relate to YOGA history. Here in Asia all the traditional building have their own symbolism and very spiritual. Rocham church by le-cobusier also very spiritual. i think may be u can find out 'what make spiritual happen.' I have that , but mine thesis not with me now. So i just give mine opinion base what i'm remember.
