Hello, I'm a Malaysian, just enrolled into an architecture course locally and hope to continue in Australia. But I've heard many disputes about the future of architects, especially their ability to keep their jobs when a recession sets in. What I worry about is the demand of architects when I graduate and wether a job is going to keep me alive with food and shelter. I've also heard that since architects are only designing artistic buildings, they are of very low significance to property developement companies and therefore are the first to be retrenched when the economy is bad. Brian, what are your views on this?

Thanks!
