well you know sometimes the ancestral choice really shift to the other side for specific reasons and I have to back my examples with the arabian history once again
"black" was chosen by a special victorious political party in ancient history as a symbol of prestige and socio-religious nobility,so here we have a total different intention for the color hierarchy and significance which was almost socially forbidden for other parties and was specified for the elit.
and once again from the same history i can detect that veils which was used widely in semitic societies pre-islamic and post-islamic,in a certain point of history "black" veils had started to reflect a social fashion backed by one beautiful verse from the arabian poetry to be transformed later to a symbol of arabian feminine hidden beauty
"black" which was used as a political insignia in a certain point of the arabian history has impact on costumes
black turban which was used also by some islamic sects for special socio-religious elit that is said to be the descendents of the prophet lineage...
although the usage of the black color in some hot and arid regions of the arabian world can be peculiar especially with the physical ability of the black color to concentrate sun light, but as we know colors and color theory can extend well beyond anthropological boundaries
