Message - Holiday house, why timber???

Hi Iím designing a holiday house, the site is in a suburb close to sea and also the site is full of trees. Why most of architects used timber in their designs and what they interpreting form the beach, bush, trees, and stones? Can you please answer if you can ASAP. S.V.P thank you and much appreciated.

Note: if you can tell me more about plans, why the are open and soon would be much better thank you
