if there has been one real failing it has been for the obliging "committee" firms of architects to preempt what they assume that a committee will require. They cringe and give way before anyone suggested that they should.

the "money" people are remarkably open to real creative input (not ill-thought-out fantasies, but the real thing).

the committee people know that they are not creative - it is totally outside their scope. They love excitement for the simple reason that there so rarely is any in their lives.

how on earth do you think that developers sell their schemes to the financiers ? by saying that it is dull ? (it may be dull, but that is not how they describe it).

lateral thought does not require a defeatist approach.
