Being in the same area of research, I would advise to be very carefull to your approach. My thesis was about creating a link between architecture and music using computer generated fractals. Still though I am having a very hard time tring to persuade my unit co-ordinator about the usability of my thesis.
Imagine that I have written about 15.000 words and still the dissertation is not in the state that I really wanted to be. It is still a very experimental field and it is open to any cririsism. I am really tired after 5 years of studing architecture, this dissertation keeps on hunting me like an old sin....
Be simple and clear and BELIEVE in it. Don't do it because is starting to be trendy.

With regards.
