hi ariel,
i think you can also consider "the bund" - the river Huang Pu waterfront in the city of Shanghai, eastern part of China. The waterfront has considerable urban development on both sides of the river. The eastern part is the old part of shanghai and the western being the contemporary face of shanghai's rapid development.

Hope you the information useful !

rupa.
