Try this book:

Myth, Ritual, and Meaning in Architecture
by Thomas Barrie

Also a while ago i did some searches for healing garden designs at hospitals and the like. Taht was very fruitful. You also want to try the architectural ideas of some religious groups. Try Ba'hai, Anthroposophy, Buddhism, Hare Krisna etc, they're each bound to have their own ideas about colours and shapes that help in healing processes.

Good luck, sounds interesting.
