Hi all,
I am looking for ideas and info relating to the structure of poverty-stricken urban space. Some sources claim that "ghettos" are physically and mentally isolating, and that neighbors don't care about each other since they are so busy keeping themselves safe (William Julius Wilson, for example). Others see a complex network of kin and family helping each other out, despite sub-standard public space, etc. Has anyone studied the physical aspect of this debate? Please help!
